David and Nicolas Gaugain, 2 brothers who are passionate about electronic music since early childhood. It was their family who introduced them to the universe of music. A sister who listened to New Wave/Kraftwerk and a father who enjoyed Klaus Schulze/Tangerine Dream.
David was influenced by his uncle by DJing and his cousins who had access to records from Belgium where electronic music was more present than in France at the time. This gave him access to broad spectrum of inspiration. Curious and hunting for the rare stuff, David starts collecting CD's, soon buys DJ- equipment and a Groovebox to start building his own tracks.
Nicolas, 11 years younger than David was inspired by his older brother. He was immersed at young age in the world of electronic music. He preferred English music such as Jungle or Breakbeat à la Prodigy via Speed Garage, then went towards Dancehall/Dub Reggae. As this culture speaks to him he digs the roots of this very productive universe, to discover King tubby/Lee Scratch Perry who are also bridges to electronic music. It's only at the age of 16 that Nicolas appreciates the electronic music from Detroit. Thanks to electro tracks by Aux 88, Drexciya etc. Warp's artificial intelligent compilations also awakened Nicolas' ears.
G-Prod officially started their journey together in 2009.
The two brothers with slightly different tastes but working together harmoniously start to write electronic music aiming genres such as dubtechno, electro, melancholic deep music, trying to incorporate a lot of musical styles in their productions to make them richer and bringing them to life. David and Nicolas quite productive since 2013 start to release on labels such as Appian / Soiree / Brique Rouge / R&S / Acquit / Groove Factory / Restructured / RF / Intellitronic Bubble / Fourier Transform / Nebulae / Lumina / Specimen / Inner Shift / Bakroom / Bonzai / Deeper State / Naeba / Fluid Electronics / Goldmin / Ibiza boys / Biotech / Logos / Metrohm / Nice & Nasty / Visillusion / Gasoil / Aztlàn / Nawal and more...
